#17 Perseverance

David Blaine is magician that likes to create images that make people stop and think. He also tries to challenge himself, he challenges himself in what doctors say is not possible . He was burred alive in a coffin for about a week in New York, he only had water through out the week. David Blaine does insane challenges that people can't do.  He did a challenge where he froze himself in an ice block for about 3 days and 3 nights, it was difficult for him but he thought all that was fun and he peruse himself to do more. After, he started going to different places like London where he lived in a glass box for 44 days with nothing but water. That was the hardest thing for him but he thought it was beautiful .

His next peruse was seeing how long he could hold his breath for. He thought it was the most amazing thing in his life. He was obsessed with Houdini as a child and he would compete with other kids and see who could last longer under water. As he grew into a teenage boy he was able to hold his breath for 3 minutes and 30 seconds,  he later found out that was Houdini's personal record. But then,  he heard a story about a young boy who fell through ice and was trapped under a river. The boy was underneath not breathing for about 45 minutes, the boy didn't have brain damage. David Blaine is a magician and he said anything is possible to do . He said if the boy can last that long without breathing there is a possible way he can to.

David met with a top neurosurgeon. He asked him how long can he put under water for , the surgeon said anything under 6 minutes can cause a serious risk of hypothesis brain damage, David decided to take that as a challenge . He did the challenge in a tank and he stayed there for about 7 min, the surgeon wanted to get him up because he thought David was already in risk.  around 7 minutes and 30 seconds they pulled him back up because he was blacking out. David decided to call Opera because he wanted to tell her that he can beat the record . David actually broke the record of 17 minutes and 4 seconds. He accomplished the challenge.

My Top Three Sports

1. Track & Field

I've been running Track and Field for about 4 years. I do long jumps and long distance. This sport is my favorite because it keeps me motivated. It helps me relax and relief my stress when I run. This sport is great for me because i have asthma and it helps me with my breathing. It helps me in a way where i can control it.

2. Dancing

Dancing is my top favorite sport. The only dancing i do is Bachata and The Jarabe Tapatio dance. I've been dancing my whole life! I started dancing at the age of 3 . It all began with The Jarabe dance, it's known as the Mexican Hat Dance and it's a very popular mexican dance. Dancing keeps me busy all the time! it gives me so much energy and it's such a fun sport to do.

3 Volleyball

Volleyball is one of the sports i still play today. I started playing Volleyball in middle school. My positions are the setter or the middle blocker. I enjoy volleyball so much because we exercise a lot and help each other as a team. I used to play in my old high school, but now i just play with girls out of school. This sport is good to communicate with one another and help each other out as a team.
